A black-tie wedding is defined by timeless style, thoughtful details, and an atmosphere that encourages everyone to slow down and be fully present. Jamie and Antoine embraced each of those qualities, creating a celebration that felt both elegant and deeply personal. Planned by Brittany Kincius of The Wedding Doc, every detail came together beautifully inside the historic Omni Severin Hotel in downtown Indianapolis.
From a private first look and handwritten vows to a choreographed first dance accompanied by a live saxophonist, each part of the day reflected who they are together while creating meaningful moments to share with their family and friends.

One of the greatest advantages of an Omni Severin Hotel wedding is how seamlessly the day unfolds. The spacious getting-ready suites, ceremony space, and reception ballroom are all located within the hotel, allowing everyone to remain present without the added stress of traveling between locations. I always begin the day by introducing myself to the couple and walking them through what to expect. Before filming begins, I spend time documenting the invitation suite, wedding bands, dress, and the thoughtful details that help tell the complete story of the day. It gives the bride the opportunity to enjoy the morning with her closest friends, knowing everything is unfolding exactly as planned.
As Jamie spent the morning getting ready with her bridesmaids, the excitement in the room continued to grow. A champagne toast marked the beginning of the celebration before everyone slipped into their dresses. While the bridal party finished getting ready, the photographer and I joined Antoine and his groomsmen to capture the final moments before the ceremony. From the windows of the groom’s suite, the views of Union Station’s historic clock tower and Lucas Oil Stadium quietly reminded us that this celebration was taking place in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Before welcoming their guests, Jamie and Antoine chose to share a private first look and exchange handwritten vows. Antoine waited patiently in the beautifully prepared ceremony space as Brittany escorted Jamie downstairs from the bridal suite.
These quiet moments often become some of the most meaningful memories of a wedding day. Away from the anticipation of the ceremony, they were able to simply be together, reflecting on the journey that had brought them to this day before promising forever in their own words.
Surrounded by family, friends, and beautiful floral arrangements, Jamie and Antoine exchanged their vows inside the elegant ceremony space at the Omni Severin Hotel. If you are looking into other hotel weddings, then you may love Hotel Carmichael in Carmel, Indiana.
One of the most meaningful moments of the ceremony was the tradition of jumping the broom. Rooted in Black ancestral history, the officiant shared its significance before the couple stepped together over the broom as a couple. The tradition symbolizes leaving behind the past and stepping into a new life together, a beautiful reflection of the commitment they had just made to one another.

While the reception space was prepared for the evening, guests gathered on the balcony overlooking the ballroom to enjoy cocktail hour. Signature drinks, an interactive portrait experience, and handwritten messages for the newlyweds gave family and friends time to celebrate together before the reception officially began.
The evening continued with grand introductions as Jamie and Antoine made their entrance before welcoming everyone with a few heartfelt words. Following dinner and toasts, the ceremony space was transformed into an elegant reception featuring a striking black-and-white checkered dance floor. Soft lighting and timeless design created an inviting atmosphere as everyone gathered to celebrate the beginning of their new chapter together.

Jamie and Antoine thoughtfully planned several moments that reflected their personalities and kept the celebration full of energy. Their choreographed first dance became even more memorable with the surprise appearance of a live saxophonist, adding another layer of elegance to the evening. As the dance floor filled later that night, they surprised their guests once more by handing out custom embroidered hats featuring their new last name. It was a simple but meaningful way to celebrate with the people they love most and a fitting conclusion to a timeless Omni Severin Hotel wedding in downtown Indianapolis.

With over 13 years of filmmaking experience, I’ve had the privilege of capturing over 300 weddings. Each time a couple steps in front of my lens, I’m reminded of exactly why I do this: because there’s no feeling like committing to forever with the person you love the most. And while it can’t be recreated, film is the next best thing. Through intentional framing and thoughtful editing, your film will put you back in that moment, in all of its beauty and depth.
